I was born in Stoke-on-Trent and grew up in Alsager, Cheshire. I spent my teenage years exploring the surrounding countryside and started to take landscape photographs as well as portraits of my friends and family.
Photography has been a part of my life ever since and I now work as a wedding, portrait and landscape photographer. Despite having travelled to many parts of the world and lived all over the UK, I've returned fairly close to my roots and live in Belper, in the Derbyshire Dales. The location is convenient for England's Peak District National Park where I enjoy walking with my wife Caroline and Megan the Springer Spaniel. Our cat, Millie prefers to say at home curled up in front of the fire.
When not engaged in wedding and portrait photography, I spend my time taking landscape and stock images. In addition to my private work for couples and individuals, I've supplied photographs for use in books and magazines, including front covers. My images have also been used for advertising, by musicians, the NHS, various Universities and other educational departments.
As a side line I develop websites (including my own) in Flash, PHP and JavaScript, alongside applications for Apple's computers and mobile devices. As a web designer I've produced commercial projects in the fields of edutainment, e-learning and distance learning with clients including Derby and Nottingham Universities plus various commercial clients.
