I’ve updated the engine which drives the website - the CMS for those other web-coders out there.
You’ll not see any obvious changes to the site, other than bookmarking / sharing. However, under the hood there’s been a big update that’s taken me a couple of weeks to implement.
I’ve made a few minor updates to the site today. Nothing really obvious, just the removal of a couple of irritations for certain users. You’ll only see a difference if you’re running an older browser.
I will be moving my various sites over to a new version of the presentation engine in the next couple of weeks. This will allow for better development of new features.
Long-term visitors may have deja-vu about this post but it has been updated for the new blog as I am now, slowly, beginning the process of transferring across old entries.
Well 2009 is nearly at an end and I’m already starting to fill up with work for 2010. At least I get a few days off over the festivities.

It’s been a very busy year for me but I’ve finally managed to push through a new version of NeilDuffin.com and two other websites as well. Just like buses, you wait for ages and then three come along at once!
I have a couple of 500Gb Lacie “Big Disks” that I used to use for backup (I’ve moved over to a Drobo now). These two Lacie drives have been working faultlessly for about 3 years but a few months back one started to cause me problems.
We’ll it’s been an ongoing saga with my Canon 40D and its intermittent “Err99”. I’d thought the issue had gone away because I’d not seen the message for several weeks, despite regular use of the camera.
However, about 3 weeks ago during a shoot on a sunny day it returned and with a vengeance. The problem occurred about 12 times in a couple of hundred shots - a much higher percentage than before.
